We sipped Bacardi Gold on the porch of our secluded beach house on the southwest tip of Puerto Rico. It was a new moon, so we were surrounded by complete darkness. Then I lit up a torch and everything grew brighter, I could see the outline of the palm trees with coconuts hanging above and the white sand twinkling below. As I attempted to take everything in, I suddenly wept.
“What’s wrong?” she asked worriedly as her hand lightly caressed my back.
“You are the torch that lights up the darkest corners of my soul. Will you please forever be the light of my life?” I said trying to hold back my tears of joy.
“You charming, charming, charming man. Yes I would love to.” She warmly smiled as she leaped into my arms, wrapped her legs around my waist, and kissed me deeply.
